2.     VESSEL BERTHING ENERGY CALCULATION
a)      Calculations were made based on following formula
E﹦0.5nd/g×Cm×Cs×Cc×Ce×Vb²
 nd = ship berthing including seawater movement added mass = 1.33W
g = Gravity Acceleration
Cm = 1+hydrodynamic mass Hm/displacement W
Hm = ЛD² /4×L×d
D = draft
L = Length Overall All
d = seawater density (1.025)
Cs = Softness Coefficient, normally takes 1
Cc = Berthing Coefficient, normally open type takes 1 and solid quay wall takes 0.8
Ce = Eccentricity Coefficient = K²/(K²+R²)
K= ship berthing radius ,set as L/4,R = distance between buffering point and center of gravity
Vb-ship normal berthing speed
b) Berthing Energy Calculation
Based on the following formula:

Hm=ЛD²/4×L×d=3.14X11.4²/4X250X1.025=26142
nd=1.33W=1.33×40000=53200
Cm=1+26142/40000=1.654
Ce=Eccentricity Coefficient takes 1.0 , Cc=0.8, Cs=1
Vb :0.08m/s
E = 0.5nd/g×Cm×Cs×Cc×Ce×Vb=0.5×53200/9.8×1.654×0.8×1.0×1.0×0.08 ²=22.986T-M

  Length Overall All:228m
Hm=ЛD²/4×L×d=3.14X10²/4X228X1.025=18345
nd=1.33W=1.33×40000=53200
Cm=1+18345/40000=1.459
Ce=Eccentricity Coefficient takes 1.0 , Cc=0.8, Cs=1
Vb :0.08m/s
